Leg Ulcer Room
The Leg Ulcer Room at Brentwood Community Hospital is used to wash out infections in leg ulcers so the containment of bacteria and the ability to effectively clean the area is paramount for Patient and Staff safety. The area is constrained by a dwarf wall, this wall was originally clad in vinyl which had reached its end of life and could not be effectively maintained by the cleaning staff.
The challange was to clad the dwarf wall without any trims and allow the area to be effectively cleaned each day.
Finish Detail
A shower detail was used at the bottom of the cladding where it met the new vinyl flooring, again to eradicate any voids.
The finished result was an excellent job and a testament to our fitters for the time and dedication in getting this right. Our client and the end user were extremely pleased with the finished result.
Effective Solution
Hygienaclad proposed that Altro Standard White Cladding should be used as an effective replacement for the vinyl that had been previously used and had become damaged over time, the concern was for infection control which ruled out the use of trims. This left one option to weld all the joints so no voids existed where bacteria could harbour. Effective cladding of Dwarf Walls is very difficult especially when Infection Control is paramount.
