Walls Refurbishment
Wasabi runs a chain of restaurants in London suppling Sushi and Bento. Wasabi worked with a design team to produce a Wasabi style that is applied to all stores so that the customers feel the same brand presence irrespective of the store they are visiting. The design uses Altro Chameleon Pure Innocence with the sheets laid horizontally to minimise the amount of joins. The sheets are fitted to the joins are every 1200mm horizontally so the silver banding cover the horizontal joins.
Constraints
A number of constraints which made this installation tough,Firstly the retail unit being on main Railway station concourse, which restricted the movements of materials to site. Secondly, the unit had no external space so all the trades were required to work with the hoarding, so space was extremely tight and Thirdly as with all retail refurbishments, tight deadlines to get the unit re-open for business.

Demanding Design
Typically sheets are joined using a jointing system such as a trim system or welding, the design does not use any kind of jointing system at all, the sheets are but jointed. This requires all sheets to be prepared to 1200mm wide by 2980mm long ensure that they are perfectly square, which is essential when butt jointing sheets. This method of installation becomes an increased challange when the sheets are thermoformed around the corners.
