Sample Method Statement

Works will commence on the above site at xx.xx Hrs,(DD/MMM/YYYY). A risk assessment has been completed, in relation to these works being carried out by Mr David Bull from HygienaClad as required by “The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999”. All personnel working on site on behalf of HygienaClad will sign in at the Contractors sign in office and abide by the site rules at all times which includes the wearing of correct PPE as required by the Site representative. Materials will be delivered to site via the designated route prior to commencement of the works to suit the construction programme . The actual particulars of the delivery will be confirmed with Site representative in advance. These operations will involve Manual Handling of materials and tools to carry out works. In all instances employees and sub contractors of HygienaClad will carry out manual handling operations in accordance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 a copy of which can be obtained from Mr David Bull.
Regulation 2 (2) makes the self employed (Contractors working on behalf of HygienaCad) responsible for their own safety during manual handling. However, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 should not be considered in isolation.
Regulation 3 (1) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 should be considered regarding suitable and sufficient assessment of the Hierarchy of Measures. A copy of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 can be obtained from Mr David Bull upon request.
All vehicles will be unloaded and materials will be stored within areas allocated by Site representative in conjunction with the General Manager of the site.
The provision of supervision and labour to unload delivery vehicles will be supplied by HygienaClad. All materials delivered to site will be incorporated into the works within 30 working days or stored within the relevant areas being worked on until final fixing.
HygienaClad will be responsible for the security of all materials and tools throughout the construction works. HygienaClad will execute the works in accordance with the Construction Specification and Programme.
Access to other trades and other personnel will not be permitted until the area is handed over by HygienaClad, or by prior agreement.
Mr David Bull from HygienaClad shall ensure, so far as is reasonable practical, that the construction / Refurbishment phase of any of the following does not start unless a Health and Safety plan complying with regulation 15(4) of the Construction (Design and Management) regulation 1994 has been prepared in respect of that project.

The works on site are to be completed in the following order:
1.Area 1 etc all areas to be listed here
Materials including accessories will be transported to the location of installation dependant on the weight, by hand or by use of two wheeled hand trucks, sack trucks or beam trolleys. At all times HygienaClad will keep to the designated walkways on the site name.  The works will be staffed with on-site labour and supervision off site management will consist of those persons listed below:
Contracts Director  - David Bull.
Our Contracts Director shall visit site as required. Other personnel shall visit the works as required.
It has been agreed with Client Name / Main Contractor that a 240V main supply will be provided so that this can be transformed down to 110V to use for workplace tools and equipment.
Access cards must be provided for the work area and all relevant routes to and from the work site.
During the duration of works all lighting must remain on within the general area, if provision for overrides is required this must be put in place prior to commencement of the works.
